A buggy can come into the cabin only if there's space and it fits under the seat or in the overhead bin. Back carriers are always checked in.Source

30 Oct 2026American Airlines20 lb stroller rule (wording corrected)Our pages described a 20 lb (9 kg) limit for gate-checking strollers.American's Conditions of Carriage say a fully collapsible stroller can be carried on board if it's under 20 lb and fits in an overhead bin; all other strollers must be checked at a ticket counter. Its children's page says non-collapsible strollers and wagons without safety straps go to the counter and all other strollers should be checked at the gate. FAQ

How often do you check airline baby rules?

We re-read each airline's official baby, baggage and child-seat pages and record the date on every airline page. When an airline's wording or figures differ from our last record, we log it here with the source.

Does the date mean the airline changed its rule that day?

No. The date is when we noticed the difference on the airline's own page. Airlines rarely date their changes, so the change may have happened any time since our previous check.
