Infant fare and lap-infant age
Babies aged 0 to 23 months sit on your lap at what KLM calls a strongly reduced ticket price (KLM doesn't publish a percentage). A separate seat can be booked through the KLM Customer Contact Centre at the child (2 to 11) price. You can book as soon as the baby is born. Each adult can travel with up to 2 babies, only 1 on the lap.
Infant baggage allowance
Lap baby: 1 hand baggage item of max 55 × 35 × 25 cm and 12 kg, plus baby food for the flight. Checked: none on Basic or Light tickets; 1 bag of max 10 kg on other ticket types.
Pushchair and stroller rules
1 buggy, stroller or back carrier per child free. It goes to the check-in desk if larger than 55 × 45 × 25 cm or heavier than 10 kg; back carriers are always checked in.

Intercontinental flights: book through the KLM Customer Contact Center for babies who on the day of the flight are under 1 year, weigh less than 10 kg and are less than 65 cm tall. Not guaranteed until you board.
Baby food and milk
Bring your own baby food; KLM says baby food is exempt from the standard hand-baggage liquid limits. Child meals (2 and over) can be ordered on intercontinental flights at least 24 hours ahead.
